Show day - Old Times Connections Show
The day was mainly just me plotting lights with both Kelly and Morgan. It was very exciting actually. I'm quite happy with how different it was from acting, like I could see myself doing that as a career option just from how the excitement was different and whilst yes it was very stressful in the middle of it, having to time the queues right and making sure every light was correct and good enough for the directors.
Once we started rehearsing, It was fairly easy, it was just the case of watching the lines on my phone, and pressing the master playback button in time with their queues, so that the lights could smoothly happen. Kelly asked for some lights to be changed a little, so I remapped it to her liking, and changed it in the playback screen. Then I remember I was sort of thrown into it, as Kelly asked me to turn house lights on and as soon as I did it, I saw the audience pile in, which shocked me but that's only natural as normally during the shows I'm backstage ready and panicking, but being up in the lightbox It's a new kind of panic, a new kind of stress, yet It's also enjoyable, just as the acting stress and panic is.
When the main show started, I was showed by Kane how to use the headset to talk to him through it, and he showed me how It's set up and what to do, I was really excited to use it but I think that's because I'm easily amused and found it really cool, I still do actually. Through the show I had some questions, not many but It was mainly about if the show was using sound to see if he was struggling with the tech on his end. I also remember the immense pressure and stress I felt and had when they messed up, I was tracking the script when there's a pause, then someone says a line except the line was 4 pages ahead in the script, then it was back 4 pages and continued going back and forth before finally getting on track and I remember talking through to kane as we both rushed through the script to find where we are, before I found the line we were, communicated the page number and where it was and we continued from there. Thankfully, even through the mess up, I hadn't missed a lighting queue which I'm surprised about but I made sure to not have the wrong lights on at the wrong time and I managed to do that.
