02/02/22 YOLO rehearsal

On our last YOLO rehearsal, we had switched some roles around, specifically Johnno and The Director. Morgan who was Johnno became the director of the play and geoffrey became Johnno, thankfully this actually improved concentration and surprisingly I had a better flow with Geoffrey as Johnno contrary to Morgan. We ran several scenes, a couple of times to be able to get it right. Unfortunately It's difficult/near impossible to block the scene properly because we're held up in the film room. And whilst Morgan is now director, we all direct, everyone writes notes and helps out, The Director is just there to essentially make sure it runs smoothly and to try out ideas for scenes/placements if everyone agrees. It's a team project that I'm excited for and I'm desperate for it to succeed. especially considering It'll be the first time I've been the actual lead role in a play, yes I've been main characters but never been the lead. And for YOLO, I'll be in nearly, if not all the scenes. I'm excited to finish my University auditions so that I can put all my energy and focus into learning the script instead of putting my focus on something else.

The show's on the 23rd of March which is a bit scary, but we've sorted out a schedule, and now we have Wednesday afternoons in the theatre to properly block and run scenes, so I'm very excited to try that out for the first time this week. Regardless of whether it turns out amazing or not, Yolo has been a new experience and an opportunity I do not regret taking.
