10/05/22 Blood Brothers First few rehearsals
Tuesday
We started the day with some warm ups as per usual, but the only thing that was actually on my mind was the Rehearsals. Once we had done the warm-ups we were told to get our scripts out and I could feel my excitement building as we were setting up our places for the scene. I realised as Narrator I have to open up the entire show, setting the emotion for it to show the audience how to react. I was a key piece in the play and it had finally dawned on me. So I acted it out how I believed the narrator would go. I was told it was good, however It felt off, and I was given advice to help with it, I was told to ridicule Mrs Johnston more in my tone of voice and emotion and then did it like so. I was happier with how I did it and was even complimented on how well I am at taking instruction and advice.
Tuesday
Today started with us warming up with a few games of question splat to get our brains working and bodies warmed up. We then started rehearsals again with me opening up the scene, however I had more advice that I've taken and I'm going to stand by. I was told to slow down, slow my walking and slow my talking, as well as walk in front of the two brothers instead of behind, so that I'm presenting them. We also learned queues for when they have to move and when the song starts. During the song I'm off stage but I come back on very soon. As the Narrator is a metaphor for the Devil, the Devil's always present in the brother's lives, from start, to finish.
