Charlie and the chocolate factory Task 3

 I played Mrs Gloop in Charlie and the chocolate factory. I auditioned for Willy Wonka, but no one wanted Mrs Gloop so I stood up to the task, I thought about how It'd be if I actually played Wonka, and I decided I don't think I'd have been that good, but I do really enjoy comedic roles and making people laugh, so I decided to take the role instead. As Mrs Gloop is German, I had to put on a German accent and sort of match it with Augustus' accent, so that it actually made it like I was his parent. And to make more personality to the character, such as their fashion sense, I found out I was getting dame make-up that looked pretty heavy, and so I decided to go along with it, and wear socks with sandals, a bead necklace and the wig was a ginger twin tails, with bobbles randomly on the tails. To top it, my friends came up with the name "Gerk" for my character, so the name would be Gerk Gloop. I believe this was because the dress I wore was green, such as Gerkin. The next thing I thought about was Gerk's personality, we never learn about Mr Gloop, or if there ever was one. So I imagined that Mr Gloop left when Augustus was born, leaving Gerk wanting, thus she resorts to flirting with nearly every man she comes across, searching for someone to finally look after her child and herself. Even in the all-glorious Chocolate Factory, she makes no exception to flirt. I also made sure to have a tiny handbag, studded with metal, due to my height and weight, the bad looked tiny compared to me, which I believe added to the comedic effect, I made sure throughout the show to react and stay in character to Augustus, miming things to him, pointing at things inside the factory and keeping myself in the mindset of being Gerk.
