Task 5
Today we finally finished the film, we had some mishaps this morning, with Harley and Henry both forgetting their costumes, Harley managed to get his delivered but Henry couldn't, but we found a costume for him in the costume room. After we had sorted things out with costumes, and I was done stressing out, we went into class and started reading a script for a large film project called "Alice and the cold case" Where I read lines as "Detective Harrison" who is a retired police detective. After reading and listening to the script, I've decided I want to audition for the same part I read in as, I think It'd be fun to do so and challenging to act as a role I've never done before. Once lunch came, I went to 224 where I met up with two make-up students that agreed to meet everyone at the green-screen room down the hall from 224 At 1:10, I also talked to Tom, who managed to get two other people to help film. Come 1pm, we finished lunch and got to change into our costumes, and then we immediately went to the green screen room, where we discussed what we needed to do, the cuts that were made to the clip itself and where we'd now start and stop which was okay for us to do because we had around 3 hours to film and every minute is around an hour to edit. Luckily we all knew our lines and were all ready. After we ran through it once, we talked a little to make sure we got it right, and I got the make-up on my face. I had to squint my eyes and keep my mouth shut as they sprayed fake blood on my face to make sure that it was ready for the starting scene. The scene we chose to start with is right after the bodyguard was shot and Tommy is re-aiming the gun at Alfie. It's still a very powerful scene despite it being half-way through what we planned originally, but we had to make changes as Owem once again still hadn't came in and still hadn't sent the clips we already did with him to Tom, meaning we had to start from scratch and fit the time we had. But I think it still turned it extremely well. After 12 takes of us laughing or messing up lines we managed to do it perfectly in a take. The only issue we had was, because of all the yelling we had to do Harley, who played as Michael, began to lose his voice at the end of shooting. But it was finished and when I asked Tom, he said he could give us the film by tomorrow. If I could change anything in the film I'd make sure that we got tom originally, Owen is a great director and he did help us with the shots but I feel like Tom was so much more reliable and now I know who to ask to film us next time we're doing a task like this, because I honestly feel like if we had gotten Tom at first, we would've finished the task on time instead of late, but at least we've done and finished much much earlier. I believe that the film went well in general, Our acting was on point and I believe we all really captured the scene at some points. Unfortunately I only had one line, so I tried to make sure I stood out in terms of Body Language and Facial Expressions. I tried to make sure that even if I didn't say much, you could really see Tommy's anger in his face. I feel like one of the biggest challenges in this, was the amount of times we had to re-schedule the shooting and work around what times were good with everyone and then when we had many times when Owen wasn't in and we had to work around that and constantly re-schedule. But we managed to film it in the end and I believe that's what really counts.
