03/11/21 First Filming Day Copycat task 5
Task Four
For our CopyCat scene, we needed people who were confident enough to suit the roles. The first person I got was Morgan Harvey, who plays as Alfie Solomon in the scene, he's good with Alfie's distinct accent and can play the role and memorise his lines confidently and with ease. Then I got Harley West to play as Michael Shelby, he's also able to play him confidently and learn the lines with ease. Both of whom are very reliable actors. The Final Actor we got was Henry Walton, we needed an extra for the scene to act as both a bodyguard who then turns into a dead body the very next scene. At last, we'd found the remaining actors. All that was left was a camera operator. It took us a couple of days to find someone, but we decided on Owen Palfreeman who I knew from a few weeks prior, when he told me he edited a piece of film me and Morgan had done before. However, unlike Morgan, Henry And Harley, Owen proved to be troublesome and unreliable. He wouldn't respond to messages on teams and had re-occurring absences that botched our film schedule. Instead, we've hired Tom Kerr who we've scheduled to film with on Tuesday the 9th of November.
During the scenes we did with Owen, we got to learn what It's like to be directed, he'd tell us where to go and what actions to do so that we matched the clip we needed to copy. We had to do some re-takes from us laughing whenever one of us messed up a line, and when I had to stare blankly and emotionless to match Tommy Shelby's face. One thing I didn't expect during filming was that I appeared to be too tall. There were many instances where Owen told me to crouch slightly for the camera angle because he needed a shot to get over my shoulder, but the camera couldn't quite reach to my height.
